Waxing Checklist

Pre-wax checklist

Hair should be at least 1/4 inch long. That’s about the length of a grain of rice. 2 weeks of outgrowth is the minimum.

Don’t sunbathe 24 hours before or after your treatment. Tanning before treatment can cause the skin to lift (tear).

If you have a low pain tolerance, take an aspirin or ibuprofen 30 min before your appointment to reduce discomfort. Staying hydrated and taking a tums before hand can also reduce acidity, and therefore prevent redness and sensitivity.

Exfoliating with a loofah, scrub, or washcloth the day of your wax will help to get the smoothest wax.

Post wax checklist

Don’t sunbathe for 24 hours before or after your treatment. Tanning after your treatment can cause irritation and even burns.

If you’re prone to bumps or in-growns, use an in-grown roll-on treatment such as Get the Bump Outta Here.

Don’t use any products on the waxed area other than: No Trauma Mama (for redness and sensitivity), Get the Bump Outta Here (prevents red bumps and ingrowns), aloe vera (soothing), a Neosporin ( antiobiotic ointment), or hydrocortisone (when itching or hiving occurs).

No hot tubs or sauna for 24 hours after waxing.

No exercise 12 hours after wax. If you do, keep hair follicles clean by showering immediately after exercise.

Gently exfoliate every 3 days with a loofah, scrub, or washcloth to prevent ingrown hairs.
